Ziad Traboulsi

Ziad is an Engineering Lead at Facebook, where he’s been employed for more than 6 years, having join as one of the first employees in EMEA. His team is responsible for integrating with mobile operators in the EMEA region in order to bring access to the Internet in the developing world, and developing software to bridge the gap in worldwide connectivity. is a Facebook-led global partnership dedicated to making affordable internet access available to the two thirds of the world not yet connected.
Previous to Facebook, he had launched his first business in 2001, targeting Pocket PC and Palm OS users, and successfully exited in 2006.
He currently spends some chunk of his time advising startups in his home country of Lebanon. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the OSB at the American University Beirut and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and has filed one U.S. patent.
